Jane Nelson is Senior Fellow and Director for the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Her work experience in the UN included preparing a report on UN-Private Sector Cooperation for the UN General Assembly under UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and leading a global research project on business and sustainable development for the UN Environment Program. A former Vice President at Citibank, Nelson authored a variety of books and publications on public-private partnerships and small enterprise development, including a report for the 1992 Rio Earth Summit for the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Africa. Nelson was born in Zimbabwe and holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics (with honors) from the University of Natal in South Africa, and a master's degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Rhodes Scholar) from Oxford University.
